Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has stated that the Spanish giants do not intend to fire him at the end of the season.
Since the World Cup in Qatar, there has been speculation that the Brazilian Football Association is seriously considering appointing the Italian tactician as the country’s head coach.
Carlo Ancelotti has had a mixed season at Real Madrid, failing to help the team win the Spanish La Liga and the UEFA Champions League, both of which he accomplished with the club last season.
Due to his struggles at the club, there have been rumors that the Spanish giants may release him at the end of the season.
However, ahead of the Real Madrid vs. Valencia league match on Sunday, May 21, scheduled for 5:30 PM WAT, Ancelotti responded “Yes” when asked if the club had promised to keep him.
“Everyone knows what my situation is: I have a contract until the end of the 2024 season and I want to stay,” he added.
Ancelotti was Real Madrid’s coach for two years, from 2013 to 2015. He left a season after the team won the Champions League. He then returned in June 2021 for a second stint.
Real Madrid won the Spanish league and a record-extending 14th UEFA Champions League under Ancelotti last season, but they were unable to replicate their success this season.
They are currently 14 points behind Barcelona with four games remaining in the regular season of the 2022-2023 Spanish La Liga.
Despite Real Madrid’s poor season, Carlo Ancelotti has led them to the Copa del Rey, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup this season.
The coach said;
It could have been a better season, but it was a good one.
Of course, we are not satisfied with La Liga, but we fought to the end in the other competitions, and won three of them.
