Transfer: Onana’s agent reveals player’s decision on Chelsea move

Andre Onana

Albert Botines, the agent of Cameroon international goalkeeper Andre Onana, has responded to reports linking the player to Chelsea.

According to Botines, the 27-year-old is “very happy” at Inter Milan in Italy, where he recently signed after leaving Ajax on a free transfer.

The Cameronian, who is currently one of the top goalkeepers in Europe, made an early impression in his first season in Serie A.

According to reports in London, Mauricio Pochettino, the next manager of Chelsea, has chosen Onana as his preferred custodian to replace Edouard Mendy and Kepa, and the Blues are reportedly already in contact with Onana ahead of the summer transfer window.

But Botines has made it clear that the Cameroon international is not pushing for a move away from Inter.

“Transfer market rumours are normal at this stage but I prefer not to talk about it because it’s very early and now the boy is focused only on the pitch,” Botines told TVPLAY_CMIT.

“We have a five-year contract with Inter. He has another four years on his contract and now he is focused only on the Serie A final and the Champions League final.

“He still has a long contract, don’t worry. He’s very happy, he’s playing for the strongest team in Italy.”
