The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, has stated that the recently inaugurated Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals will help Nigeria generate more power for its electricity sector.
Emefiele stated the Dangote Refinery is anticipated to produce 12,000 megawatts of electricity while speaking at the inauguration in Lagos State on Monday.
He added that once operations get going, Nigerians will have access to over 135,000 permanent jobs.
He asserts that the refinery will also enable Nigeria to annually save between $25 and $30 billion in foreign exchange.
He stated that the refinery would provide $10 billion yearly inflows to the country’s economy.
Emefiele said the Dangote Refinery indicates that Nigeria can produce whatever it needs.
The 650,000 Barrels Per Day Dangote Refinery would be a significant landmark development in Nigeria’s oil and gas downstream sector.
