Intermediaries are said to have approached Manchester United with the intention of persuading the Premier League club to sign Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
Neymar’s future at PSG is uncertain. Given that the French club is attempting to shift its focus away from signing football superstars and toward developing homegrown talent, they are reportedly willing to listen to bids for the Brazilian football icon.
As a result, many clubs, including Erik Ten Hag’s United, have inquired about Neymar’s availability.
Despite the fact that a transfer would make economic sense, Sky Sports reports that United is not currently interested in the Brazilian’s services.
It is also unclear how United will pay his wages or whether the injury-prone winger will adapt to playing in the Premier League.
Neymar’s link to Manchester United comes after PSG condemned the actions of supporters who were rumored to have gathered outside Neymar’s home and demanded that he leave the team.
Outside the club’s offices, supporters were seen calling for the board to resign. Later recordings showed a crowd of the club’s fans approaching Neymar’s house and pleading with him to leave the club.
Lionel Messi, the Argentine football icon, is also expected to leave the Ligue 1 club at the end of the season. The next destination of the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner, like Neymar, is unknown.
