Ahmadu Fintiri, the governor of Adamawa State, has given the project to build the Bakin Duze to Magar Village Road along the Michika-Maiduguri Road his approval for N567 million. The decision was made during the State Executive Council’s final meeting in Yola.
Members of the council expressed their happiness and experiences during the meeting and thanked Governor Fintiri for allowing them to work under his leadership.
This was disclosed to Government House reporters by the commissioner for information and strategy, Dr. Umar Garba Pella, during the council meeting, which was the final one for the current administration.
Pella said due to the importance of the project to Adamawa and Borno states, an executive approval was earlier given on the road that was washed away by flood at the last rainy season.
The commissioner said the project has since begun by the contracting firm, Triacta Nigeria Limited.
He revealed that the council had also approved N19million variation on the contract for the rehabilitation of fertiliser blending plant in Girei which was awarded last year at the initial cost of N86million.
Pella said inflation and increase in tax were the factors that informed the variation hence its approval by the council.
The council, he said, has also approved procurement of four Toyota Camry for some principal officers in the office of the governor at the cost of N111million. The commissioner said the contract was awarded to Naiwa Global Links Nigeria Limited.
