Zamfara State Governor, Hon Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has handed over the reign of leadership to the incoming governor, Dauda Lawan Dare’s Peoples Democratic Party, PDP on Saturday.
Presenting the documents, Governor Matawallle, who spoke through his deputy, Senator Hassan Nasiha Mohammed, said the documents were compiled by the transition committee.
He further stated that the documents contain the activities of the administration from 2019 to 2023.
The deputy governor explained that the documents were to serve as guides for the incoming administration of Dare.
Senator Mohammed, however, told the governor-elect to caution the PDP supporters to respect the laws of the land and ensure a peaceful inauguration ceremony on Monday, May 29.
“It is very clear that Zamfara State belongs to all of us, we hope what happened during the results declaration will not be repeated after the handover,” he added.
Reacting, the governor-elect, Dare, described the handing over as a historic event, apologizing for the destruction of APC properties in the state by PDP supporters after the declaration of the governorship election result.
“We are going to study the documents, if there is any concerns would get back to you”
He advised residents of the state to be law-abiding and conduct themselves peacefully during the handover ceremony.
