President Muhammadu Buhari bestowed national honors on several individuals in recognition of their significant contributions to the country.

Emeka Anyaoku, a former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, was among those honored with the prestigious Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON).

Other notable figures, in addition to Anyaoku, were honored for their outstanding service.

Former Osun State Governor Bisi Akande, former Ogun State Governor Olusegun Osoba, Mamman Daura, and Central Bank Governor (CBN) Godwin Emefiele were among those awarded the Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR).

Oba Adekunle Oyelude Makama, Tegbosun III, the Olowu of Kuta, was also awarded the Commander of the Order of Niger (CON).

Oba Adekunle received the national honor in recognition of his unwavering support for the military and his consistent efforts to encourage Nigerians to support the Nigerian Army.

Oba Adekunle, Osun State’s traditional ruler for the past decade, has played an important role in fostering unity and providing guidance to his community.

The Olowu in council thanked President Buhari for bestowing such a significant national honor on their traditional ruler.

They believe that President Buhari, a former army general turned democrat, will be remembered for bestowing this prestigious honor.
