Yemi Osinbajo, the outgoing vice President expressed his gratitude to the staff of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) at a valedictory dinner held in his honour.
In his remarks, Osinbajo expressed his desire, along with President Muhammadu Buhari, to make Nigeria a better place during their eight-year tenure.
He emphasized that he specifically hired people who shared his passion for repairing Nigeria.
Osinbajo praised the OVP staff for their exceptional hard work and dedication, expressing gratitude for their unwavering commitment to the nation’s progress.
He personally interviewed many of the people who worked with him, looking for people who genuinely cared about Nigeria.
He praised the great experiences and accomplishments made during their administration’s eight years.
The Vice President thanked members of his team, including his wife, Dolapo Osinbajo, whom he described as his most powerful weapon.
He praised the Police and Security Details, civil servants, the Chief of Staff, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, and Special Assistants, among others.
He praised them for their dedication, selflessness, and brilliance in serving the country.
Osinbajo received gifts and handwritten valedictory notes from the staff during the dinner.
He expressed his gratitude for their thoughtful actions. Earlier in the day, the Vice President paid a visit to the OVP staff’s respective offices at the Presidential Villa to say goodbye and express his gratitude.
Osinbajo reflected on Nigeria’s journey, recognizing the difficulties encountered along the way.
Despite these difficulties, he emphasized that Nigeria’s story is one of hope, courage, and triumph, as well as the incredible talents and potential of its people.
He expressed gratitude to God for saving him and 11 others from a helicopter crash in 2019. He also recalled a similar incident in 2018, thanking the Almighty for His protection.
As the day of his inauguration approaches, Vice President Osinbajo expressed his gratitude and optimism for a better future for Nigeria, while also recognizing the dedicated individuals who have been instrumental in their collective efforts to serve the country.
