In order to travel to his hometown of Daura, Katsina State, Muhammadu Buhari, the immediate former president of Nigeria, has left Eagle Square for Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
Buhari departed the area right away. On Monday, Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima were sworn in as the new president and vice president, respectively.
Buhari officially handed over the incoming president’s flag and other official insignia before departing.
On Sunday evening, Tinubu and other dignitaries joined Buhari for dinner in the State House Banquet Hall.
The retired Army General had repeatedly said he would retire to his hometown to take care of his cows after his tenure in office elapses.
Buhari will, on Tuesday, in Daura, be hosted to a Durbar ceremony to mark his return and welcome back home.
