Dr. Dauda Lawal Dare has been sworn in as the fifth executive governor of Zamfara State and will lead the state’s affairs for the next four years.
Justice Kulu Aliyu, the state’s chief judge, administered the oath of office to the governor and his deputy.
In his speech, the new governor stated that he will prioritise security, agriculture, health, and human development, emphasising that he inherited an empty treasury from the previous administration.
He appealed to the people to support him and bear with his administration because he inherited huge liabilities, assuring the people of the state that he would do everything within his constitutional power not to disappoint them as they massively voted for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
“Those bandits that have refused to repent, I appeal to you to drop your arms and let us work together to reposition Zamfara State.”
