Kano Central Senator Ibrahim Shekarau has described his relationship with the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso, as cordial.
Shekarau described himself and Kwankwaso as best friends.
During the run-up to the 2023 general elections, the former Kano State governor had a falling out with Kwankwaso.
Shekarau left the All Progressives Congress, APC, in May to join Kwankwaso’s NNPP, but later left the party.
Shekarau, on the other hand, denied any feud with Kwankwaso.
Featuring on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday night, Shekarau, however, admitted that he usually disagrees with Kwankwaso on some issues.
According to Shekarau: “We are very good friends. When he is here talking, you think we normally disagree. We disagree on a number of political issues.
“But that does not mean we are fighting, (or) we are enemies. We are best of friends.”
