Two terrorists have been killed and a Kidnap attempt thwarted at Tani village in Bindawa LGA of Kastina state, police in the North West state have said.
According to the State Police Command, one Ak-47 rifle along with five rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition were also recovered during the operation.
The new spokesman of the command, ASP Abubakar Sadiq who disclosed this in a statement said the terrorists, armed with AK-47 rifles stormed the community shooting sporadically before attacking the residence of one of the villagers identified as Yahaya Usman and inflicting a deep wound to his head with a knife while attempting to kidnap him.
The timely intervention of the Bindawa Divisional Police Officer and his team upon receipt of the report, resulting in a fierce gun duel, foiled the kidnap attempt.
The two recovered bodies were said to be those of the suspected terrorists and arms smugglers identified as Sani Kokaya and Ummara, who were both from Kaita LGA of the state.
