Tight Security at Ondo Assembly as Speaker debunks resignation

Ondo State House of Assembly Complex security has been increased with the addition of armed security personnel on Friday in Akure’s Alagbaka neighbourhood.

This occurs shortly after Bamidele Oloyeloogun, the speaker of the state House of Assembly, reportedly announced his resignation a few days before the 9th Assembly’s term was set to expire.

According to reports, armed security personnel had barred the assembly complex’s two gates.

Speaking about the development, Hon. Olugbenga Omole, Chairman of the House Committee on Information, revealed that armed security personnel were present at the Assembly.

However, Omole denied rumours that the Speaker had resigned and added that a letter in circulation bearing Oleyelogun’s signature had been faked.

The outgoing Spokesman of the House noted that there are plots to scuttle the last sitting of the 9th Assembly.
