Akintilebo Akintayo, 45, and Faith Philip, 37, were indicted on Friday for alleged assault and threat to life at an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun.

Three counts of conspiracy, assault, and life threat were brought against the defendants by the Police; their addresses were not disclosed.

The accused, however, entered a not guilty plea to the accusations.

The crimes were perpetrated on March 31 at around 9:00 p.m. at the Bells Bus-Stop in Ota, according to the prosecutor, Insp. E.O. Adaraloye, who testified in court.

Additionally, he said that they physically abused him and tore his clothing.

The prosecutor said the offences contravened the Criminal Code, Vol.1, Laws of Ogun, 2006.

The Magistrate, Mrs A.O. Adeyemi, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N100,000 each, with one surety each in like sum.

Adeyemi ordered that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed with tax payment to the Ogun State Government.

She adjourned the case until June 27 for further hearing.
