In the early hours of Saturday, armed men broke into the Mashafa neighbourhood of Mpape in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
The Punch learned that during the hour-long operation, the gunmen kidnapped no less than four locals.
The armed men came for specific residents, according to a resident who only gave his name as Zack to news crews.
He continued by saying that the shooters separately broke into the victims’ homes and took them away.
Zack said, “They came early in the morning around 1:am with sophisticated weapons. The sound of their guns was very loud, and it lasted about an hour. If you look at the kind of people they kidnapped, it showed they had their targets, and they one-by-one forced their way into their houses to pick them up. We have an Executive Officer of a logistics company, another, a manager of a big bakery, the other one is a Manger of an Oil dump company, and the last one works with a construction company.”
When contacted, the FCT spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh promised to get back to our correspondent. However, she had yet to do so as of the time of filing this report.
