Today at 4 p.m. in the State House in Abuja, representatives of the Federal Government are scheduled to meet with the Trade Union Congress to discuss the elimination of the fuel subsidy.
The information was revealed in an interview with Punch on Sunday by TUC Secretary General Nuhu Toro. The conference is a continuation of the preceding one with organized labor, which resulted in a standstill.
“The meeting will start by 4p.m”, Toro said when asked to share details of the meeting.
Already, the TUC in a press briefing held last Friday hinted that it was going to meet the government and present its charter of demands.
According to the national president of the congress, Festus Osifo, the reaction of the TUC will be based on the outcome of Today’s meeting.
Affiliate members of the TUC include the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools, Association of Freight and Heavy Goods Carriers of Nigeria, Association of Senior Staff of Banks, Insurance and Financial Institutions, and Bus Conductors’ Association of Nigeria among others.
