A valedictory session of the 9th House is currently taking place in the House of Representatives.
Patricia Etteh and Ghali Na’Abbas, two past speakers, are present during the meeting.
In his closing statement, the speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, praised the legislators for their work over the previous four years, which included the passing of significant laws like the Electoral Act and the Public Interest Disclosure Act, among others.
He expressed concern about the 9th House’s inability to enact various bills relating to women that the House rejected in 2022.
Gbajabiamila also urged the next House to take on the challenge of passing gender-related bills.
It would be recalled that Gbajabiamila was appointed as the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.
The next Assembly will be inaugurated on Tuesday.
