Following a heavy downpour that wreaked havoc in the Ringim Local Government Area of Jigawa State, two people were killed and others were injured.
Hon. Shehu Sule Udi, chairman of the Local Government Council, confirmed the incident to DAILY POST.
He stated that the incident occurred around 1:00 a.m. on Monday in Ringim and surrounding areas due to heavy rain.
Udi stated that the incident primarily impacted the people of Larabawa da Hambarawa villages.
“Two people died, many were injured and about twenty houses were destroyed in the affected village,” he said.
He sympathized with the victims’ families and prayed for Allah SWA to grant the deceased eternal rest and for the families to bear the loss.
He said the local government is working to support the victims to relieve their situation.
