Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has slammed Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the February 25 polls, for his Democracy Day message to Nigerians.
WITHIN NIGERIA reported that Obi joined Nigerians in commemorating the annulled presidential election won by Chief MKO Abiola.
Obi stated in a Democracy Day message to Nigerians on Sunday that June 12 is the foundation of our long collective journey to nationhood as a true democracy, despite the nation’s democracy is deeply troubled and Nigeria’s destiny remaining uncertain and precarious.
According to the former Anambra State governor, Nigerians should use June 12 to return to the true virtues of a truly democratic country.
The late Chief M.K.O Abiola was chosen as a worthy leader for the nation by Nigerians, governments, and people all over the world, according to the LP flagbearer.
Sowore responded on Monday via his verified Twitter handle, saying June 12 has now become “National Opportunists Day” for people like Obi, who allegedly worked for the late Sani Abacha.
According to the AAC flagbearer, Obi, who openly admitted to working for Abacha clearing the Tin Can Island port while the late dictator was busy assassinating June 12 protagonists, is also taking a cruise on June 12.
He wrote:
