Following mediation by significant state stakeholders, the Professional Football Association of Nigeria, Kwara State Chapter, abandoned its lawsuit against the state football association at the Upper Ilorin Court on Tuesday.
As a result, the withdrawal opens the door for the planned FA elections on June 13.
The FA’s elected Congress was halted last Friday after PFAN filed a lawsuit against the football organisation, claiming that it had been unfairly forced into the election process.
They also charged Idris Musa Abdullahi, the current FA chair, for being haughty and failing to lead the body.
Accroding to Daily Independent, PFAN is a fractious body that has made it difficult for the accreditation committee of the FA to include it as a delegate given the numerous factions within its rank.
It was gathered that in Kaiama the election process is on.
