36-year-old Ogundoyin emerges Oyo Assembly Speaker for second term

36-year-old Adebo Ogundoyin, the representative of Ibarapa East State Constituency, has been elected for a second term as the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly.

Ogundoyin secured his re-election on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, during the 10th assembly inauguration.

Among the members, 28 were elected under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), while four were elected under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Hailing from Eruwa, Ogundoyin is a member of the PDP and was initially elected as Speaker of the House in June 2019. The re-election took place as part of the inauguration proceedings for the 10th State House of Assembly.

During the nomination process, Ogundoyin was put forward by one of the lawmakers-elect, Bamidele Adeola (Iseyin/Itesowaju), and received support from Babajide Gabriel Adebayo.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of the state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, along with other high-ranking government officials.
