The National Economic Council (NEC) was officially launched on Thursday in Aso Villa’s Council Chambers by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Dada Olusegun, Tinubu’s social aide assistant, revealed this in a tweet.
In accordance with its charter, Vice President Kashim Shettima serves as the NEC’s chairman. Other members include state governors and the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
The National Economic Council was established by the provisions of the Constitution of the FRN, 1999, as amended; Section 153(1) and Paragraphs 18 & 19 of Part I of the Third Schedule.
Membership of the NEC comprises of the 36 State Governors, the Governor of the CBN and other co-opted Government officials
