Sani Musa, the senator representing Niger East in the 10th National Assembly, has called a list of senators’ votes in the Senate presidency election on Tuesday “fake.”
Senator Godswill Akpabio (Akwa-Ibom North West) was elected as the 10th Senate President with 63 votes, defeating his opponent, Senator Abdul’aziz Yari (Zamfara West), who received 46 votes.
A widely circulated document yesterday showed a list of senators and the candidates they supported in the Tuesday election.
Senator Musa, however, described the list as bogus and urged the public to disregard it in a statement issued yesterday.
He claimed that a review of the document revealed that the authors were attempting in vain to sow discord among APC leadership, the presidency, the current Senate president, and some senators.
