AFCON Qualifier: Sierra Leone Stars Storm Liberia For Super Eagles

2025 AFCON

The Leone Stars of Sierra Leone have stormed Moronvia, Liberia, the venue of the game, ahead of the crucial match day 5 of the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Nigeria’s Super Eagles.

Coach John Keister’s team has been in camp for the last few days preparing for the crucial match that will likely make or break the team.

Following the morning practice, 25 players and the technical crew left Freetown, Sierra Leone’s capital, for Liberia.

To date, the availability of team captain Steven Caulker is unknown, but the coach remains upbeat about the game.

The victory of Guinea-Bissau over Sao Tome and Principe on Wednesday further jeopardises the qualification chances of the Leone Stars as they must beat Nigeria to have a chance of reaching Ivory Coast 2023.
