Operations Manager of Sterling Bank Kidnapped in Bayelsa

The Bayelsa State Police Command has officially confirmed the abduction of Mrs. Nneka Enuka UgoAnochie, the Operations Manager of Sterling Bank.

Mrs. UgoAnochie was forcefully taken while en route to her office. The incident occurred near the Kpansia area of Yenagoa, the state capital. The presence of multiple security checkpoints along the expressway left many residents surprised by the audacity of the abduction.

During a press briefing held at the headquarters of the Bayelsa State Police Command, Commissioner of Police, Romokere Ibani, verified the incident. He provided details, stating, “On the 16th of June at 8 am, four armed men dressed in military camouflage, using a red Lexus jeep, abducted Mrs. Nneka Enuka UgoAnochie along Otiotio Road in Yenagoa Local Government Area while she was driving to her office.”

“The police were immediately alerted, and we promptly initiated a rescue mission. However, the kidnappers abandoned their vehicle and escaped with their victim. The recovered vehicle, with registration number BWR 552 AW, was found on the East-West Road. We are intensifying our efforts to ensure her safe rescue.”

Speaking on condition of anonymity, security sources revealed to journalists that the victim had received multiple warnings to relocate from her current area of residence. It is situated adjacent to the residences of the previously apprehended notorious kidnappers, John Ewa, alias John Lyon, and Emmanuel Agase.

One of the sources suggested that the abduction might be orchestrated by the remaining members of the notorious kidnapping gang.

“We had repeatedly advised her to relocate due to our intelligence reports indicating that she was being monitored for a potential abduction,” the source stated.
