The appointment of Timothy Ojoma as the new Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources has been approved by the Kogi State House of Assembly.
The clearance was given by the 8th Assembly on Wednesday in Lokoja at the house plenary.
Ojoma succeeds former Commissioner David Apeh, who was fired by Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello for anti-party activities.
Yahaya Bello, the governor of Kogi State, submitted his name to the house for the Assembly’s consideration.
Ojoma has what it takes to drive the ministry forward, according to Comfort Nwuchiola, a member representing the Ibaji State Constituency, who spoke during the Commissioner’s screening.
In her submission, she appealed to her colleagues for the nominee to the Commissioner to take a bow and go, which was granted by members of the house.
Speaking with Kogi State House of Assembly Correspondents, the newly appointed Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources said he will ensure mechanized agriculture as against subsistence practice in the State.
He promised to boost food security during his stay in office.
