Osun police arrests local gun fabricator, two others

The Osun State Police Command on Wednesday disclosed that it arrested a local gun fabricator, Tunde Alabi, 42, for illegal possession of weapons.

The Command’s spokesperson Yemisi Opalola stated that one Akano Olasunkanmi, 20 and Mosuru Ali, 25, were also arrested after they were caught with a cut-to-size pistol.

According to her, Olasunkanmi and Ali were intercepted by police operatives on Saturday, June 17, 2023 along Okepa Junction in Osu in Atakumosa-West Local Government Area of the state with the gun.

“Upon interrogation, Olasunkanmi confessed to owning the gun and further revealed that it was made and sold it to him at the cost of N30,000.

“After the confession, the said Tunde Alabi was arrested and one live cartridge, one pump action and ten locally made barrel guns were also found in his possession.

“The suspects will be charged to court after the completion of investigation.

“The command is hereby assuring the general public that timing, credible and useful information is very important at serving you better”, she said.
