The Plateau State House of Assembly approved Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s loan request on Thursday, allowing him to obtain a bank facility worth N15 billion for the payment of workers’ salaries and agricultural inputs.
Hon. Matthew Sule, the Speaker, presented the governor’s request for House approval to obtain the facility.
According to the letter of request, there is a backlog of N11 billion in unpaid salaries, necessitating the governor’s request for house approval for the N15 billion bank facility.
The speaker then presented to the plenary another executive request for more than N3 billion in virement from budget subheads in 2023 to support security issues.
To that end, the House has formed a five-member ad hoc committee to investigate the governor’s request.
