Adewale Bashir Adeniyi, the Acting Comptroller-General of Customs, received a decoration from Vice President Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
President Bola Tinubu appointed Adeniyi as the temporary controller-general of customs on Monday along with other newly appointed security officials.
Adeniyi was decorated a few days after Vice President Shettima had adorned Kayode Egbetokun, the acting inspector general of police, with his latest tirade at the Villa.
Adeniyi is to replace former Customs CG, Hammed Ali, who was relieved of his job alongside all service chiefs Monday afternoon. Mr Ali. a former military governor of Kaduna, was appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari on August 27, 2015, serving until today. His tenure was perhaps more infamous for his refusal to wear the institution’s uniform, which Buhari failed to address for nearly eight years.
This is a developing story….
