Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has been informed that his budget for the summer transfer window is £120 million.
However, the former Ajax manager can boost his bank account by selling players.
United expects to earn up to £640 million in revenue this year, which would be a record for any Premier League club.
This has been boosted by 2.4 million season ticket sales and record match-day revenue for the 2022/2023 season.
Some of that money will go towards a deal for Chelsea midfielder, Mason Mount, if an agreement can be reached on a fee.
Chelsea and United officials are due to meet again at the end of the week after the Red Devils submitted a “final” £55 million bid for the player, who has one year left on his contract.
But all of this is taking place against the backdrop of uncertainty and discontent around the Glazer family, who are contemplating a sale but are dragging their feet over competing offers from Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s Ineos group and Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al Thani.
