Bayern turn to Osimhen, put Kane talks on hold

Bayern Munich have shifted their focus to Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, putting talks with Harry Kane on hold.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Tottenham rejected a €70 million offer for the England international, demanding €90 million, so Bayern Munich has halted talks and is considering making an offer to Napoli for Osimhen.

According to the Italian publication, while the Bavarians are unwilling to match Napoli’s €180 million asking price, they are willing to offer more than €100 million.

Bayern would prefer to pay this fee for the 24-year-old over €90 million for Kane, who turns 30 on July 28. The club and the player’s entourage have already begun discussions.

It remains to be seen whether it will be enough for Napoli, who reportedly turned down a €100 million offer from PSG. Osimhen is also a target for Liverpool.

If the Nigeria international joins Bayern, he will be reunited with Napoli defender Kim, who has agreed to personal terms with the Bundesliga giants ahead of a €50 million transfer.

Meanwhile, following Arsenal’s impending signing of Declan Rice, talkTV host Piers Morgan has named Osimhen as a world-class striker they should spend big money on, claiming that he can help Arsenal go one better next season and fire the goals that will help end the club’s 20-year title drought.

Morgan tweeted;

“It’s brilliant that Arsenal seem to have won the race to sign @_DeclanRice who will be a monstrously good addition to the team. But if we want to win big trophies, we also need a world-class striker who will score 25+ goals a season. I’d break the bank for @victorosimhen9.”
