Mrs Veronica Adesotu, a Delta State All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, has urged President Bola Tinubu to ensure that women are well represented in his administration.
Adesotu, the founder of the APC Female Aspirants 2022/2023 Forum, made the appeal in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Thursday.
Tinubu, she said, would be giving women the opportunity to effectively contribute their quota to the country’s development.
Adesotu stated that the APC Female Aspirants Forum had women with high intellectual capacity who were ready to unleash their intellect and positive energy for the nation’s growth.
She also stated that their inclusion in the cabinet and other key positions is critical to moving the country forward and carrying out Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
She claimed that even though some in Tinubu’s political circle questioned his abilities, loyal APC female members believed he would win the Feb. 25 election.
Adesotu, a former Delta House of Assembly aspirant for Aniocha North, said female APC politicians who supported Tinubu deserved to be compensated with political appointments.
She advised Tinubu to disregard sentiments when appointing ministers and other top administration officials, saying that only deserving loyal party members should be considered.
Adesotu stated that it was time for Tinubu to clear his name of all negative propaganda levelled against him ahead of the elections by implementing policies and programmes that would improve Nigerians’ well-being.
She expressed hope that Tinubu like he did as governor of Lagos State, would make history and turn around Nigeria’s fortunes.
In rebuilding this nation in line with his Renewed Hope agenda, let him rewrite his name in the golden book of history by enthroning good government in the interest of all Nigerians.
Nigerians must experience a new order of change and the APC must be seen as the harbinger of good government, progress, light and development.
This is no time to joke with the destiny of the youths of this country; delay is dangerous.
As a good father it is time for Tinubu to leave a good inheritance of good governance and development for Nigerians, she said.
