In Osun, a nursing mother has died after a private car lost control and crashed into the commercial motorcycle that was conveying her to her destination.
Though the incident happened on Friday, the deceased, identified as Iyawo Ori-Ade, gave up the ghost on Saturday as a result of injuries she sustained in the ghastly accident.
A dark cloud of despair has descended over Agunbelewo area where she resided following her death as residents wrestle with the grief and mourning that her loss has engendered.
It’s gathered that Iyawo Ori-Ade was on a commercial motorcycle to pay electricity bill around 3pm on Friday when a Toyota Camry car with Lagos registration number; KRD 930 HV, hit the commercial motorcycle.
According to an eyewitness, Sunkanmi Ayodele, “The car driver, Bello Ayodeji, was going to Okinni when he lost control of the car and crashed into the oncoming motorcycle.
“The woman and the rider sustained severe injuries and were rushed to the Osun State University Teaching Hospital for treatment, where she eventually died.”
The Spokesperson of the Osun State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola also confirmed the accident.
Opalola said, “The passenger died in the hospital she was rushed to for treatment.
“Her corpse has been deposited in the mortuary for autopsy.”
