Former lawmaker, Shehu Sani has expressed displeasure at the alleged humongous severance packages given to the ousted Service Chiefs.
The activist and social critic claimed the Service Chiefs are being rewarded handsomely despite their dismal performance and inability to address the deepening security crisis that plagues the country while in office.
His comments followed reports that the Chief of Defence Staff and the other Service Chiefs got bulletproof Sport Utility Vehicles, personal aides, guards and other perks of office, including generous allowance for medical treatment abroad, as retirement benefits.
Shehu Sani, however, said the erstwhile service chiefs left the nation in the hands of terrorists and bandits but were rewarded with mouthwatering benefits.
In a post via his verified Twitter handle on Friday, Sani wrote, “The other service chiefs left us with terrorists and were rewarded with ambassadorial appointments; these ones left us with bandits and were rewarded with SUVs.”
Recall that President Bola Tinubu had sacked all Service Chiefs and the Inspector-General of Police, Advisers, and the Comptroller-General of Customs, weeks after his inauguration.
He also announced their replacement immediately.
