A heavy rainstorm that wreaked havoc in Kebbi state’s villages has claimed six lives.
Six persons were also injured in the disaster which happened at Allen-Kwara villages in Argungu Local Government Area of the State.
In the same vein, many families in Zauro in Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area of the state have become homeless due to a rainstorm.
In May, the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) warned that 12 northern states were likely to experience thunderstorms and flooding in the last half of the year.
The states include Borno, Taraba, Gombe, Bauchi, Adamawa, and Yobe in the North East; Plateau, Nasarawa, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and Kaduna in the North Central; and Jigawa, Kano, and Katsina in the North Central region of the country.
