Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi, Kwara State’s first female police commissioner, has assumed duty in the state.
She took over the command from the outgoing Commissioner of Police, Paul Odama, who was promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG.
According to a statement issued by the command’s spokesman, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, in Ilorin on Wednesday, CP Ebunoluwarotimi is from Sagamu, in the Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State.
She was appointed to the Nigeria Police Force on March 3, 1990, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police.
The statement described the new police commissioner as a no-nonsense police officer who has worked in several police commands and formations within and outside the country, where she held several command positions at various times.
