- Delay in appointment of commissioners raises concerns in Kaduna State
- Governor Uba Sani yet to announce commissioners, causing anxiety among party members
- Governor’s aide appeals for patience, assures selection of capable individuals for cabinet positions in Kaduna State
More than a month after his inauguration, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has yet to appoint commissioners to serve in his administration.
Members of his party and loyalists have expressed concern about the delay in these appointments.
Only a few appointments have been made since his May 29 inauguration, including the Secretary to the Government (SSG), Chief of Staff, Senior Special Assistants, and Advisers.
A member of the governor’s campaign team expressed excitement about the appointment of commissioners.
They did, however, express hope that those who served in the previous administration would not be reappointed.
Another party member, who requested anonymity, emphasised the importance of Governor Sani quickly releasing the names of other cabinet members. They noted that other states have already made significant progress in terms of cabinet formation.
Other party members felt marginalised after helping the party win.
Dahiru Ahmed, Governor Uba Sani’s Senior Special Assistant on Electronic Media, did, however, appear on the Liberty Radio programme to appeal for calm while responding to questions.
He assured the public that the governor is working hard to appoint people with integrity and patriotism who will contribute to the state’s development.
Why Kaduna Gov Is Yet To Appoint Commissioners
Dahiru Ahmed, the Kaduna State Governor’s Senior Special Adviser (SSA) on Electronic Media, has stated that Governor Uba Sani has yet to appoint commissioners as part of a deliberate strategy to ensure that individuals with integrity and impeccable character are brought on board.
During an interview on a private radio station in the state yesterday, he urged the people to include the governor in their prayers, asking for God’s guidance in the selection of individuals who would benefit the state.
He said;
The governor is diligently working to ensure that only credible individuals are appointed as commissioners. His desire is to have people who fear God and are willing to serve. So, there is no rush in making these appointments at the moment.
He also stated that the list of appointees would be presented to the House of Assembly soon.
