In the Aso Villa’s council chamber in Abuja, President Bola Tinubu met with the class of 1999 Governors on Wednesday.
The ex-governors gathered at the State House to show solidarity with Tinubu, who led Lagos State from May 1999 to 2007, and to support his recent policies since taking office as Nigeria’s president on May 29, 2023. Tinubu served as governor of Lagos State from May 1999 to 2007.
James Ibori from Delta State, Donald Duke from Cross River State, Orji Kalu from Abia State, Victor Attah from Akwa Ibom State, Adamu Mu’azu from Bauchi State, Sam Egwu from Ebonyi State, Chimaroke Nnamani from Enugu State, and Ibrahim Turaki from Jigawa State are among the former governors who are in attendance.
Others are Niyi Adebayo of Ekiti State; Bisi Akande of Osun State; Joshua Dariye of Plateau State; Ahmed Yerima of Zamfara State; Jolly Nyame of Taraba State; Olusegun Osoba of Ogun State as well as Attahiru Bafarawa of Sokoto State.
