A Keke Napep operator, Chigozie Nwokoro, has revealed why he killed his girl and dumped her remains in the bush.

Within Nigeria had reported on Friday how Chigozie was caught by youths of Ajata Ibeku in Umuahia, Abia state capital, while dumping the corpse of his girlfriend in the bush.

The 24-year-old man was nabbed on Wednesday night and handed over to the police.

Speaking on the death of the deceased, he blamed his sexual urge for the fight that led to his girlfriend’s death inside his house in Umuahia.

Chigozie made this known in his confessional statement to Ajata youths.

The murder suspect claimed that his late girlfriend, identified as Beauty, a native of Oboro in Ikwuano LGA, rebuffed his plea to make love to her, which according to him, caused a fight between them.

Nwokoro, who claimed that he “really loved” his girlfriend, said that the victim hit her head on the wall of his room during the fight, at about 7:pm, leading to her death.

According to the 24-year-old man, when he realised that his girlfriend was dead, he became confused on what to do but later made up his mind to dump her body in the bush at night, to avoid being noticed.

But nemesis caught up with him when some youths observed him driving into a bush path at odd hours of the night, which made them trace him.

“The suspect has been handed over to the police after receiving the beating of his life, while the body of the victim is expected to undergo an autopsy to determine the true cause of her death,” a source said.

The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO of Abia State Command, Chioma Maureen Chinaka, confirmed the arrest of the suspect, saying that he is already in the police net.
