At Umudunu village, Abagana in the Njikoka local government area, police officers assigned to the Abagana Division in the Anambra command saved an elderly woman from her abusive 50-year-old daughter, Ukamaka Udeugbo.
In a viral video clip, Ukamaka can be seen continuously beating a naked elderly woman while also dumping buckets of water on her while she lay on the ground.
Ukamaka has been detained for prosecution, according to Mr. Tochukwu Ikenga, PPRO for the Anambra State Police.
Aderemi Adeoye, the state’s commissioner of police, reportedly gave the order to move the investigation to the State CID in the interest of the general public, according to the PPRO.
The PPRO also said the CP has authorized that the aged woman be handed to the Commissioner for Women Affairs for adequate care by the Anambra State government.
He said the suspect would be arraigned in court at the end of the investigation.
