- Victor Osimhen wants a 120 million euro release clause in his new contract.
- Napoli is willing to invest 200 million euros in Osimhen’s new contract.
- Osimhen’s current contract expires in 2025, but Napoli wants to extend it.
Victor Osimhen has made a new demand of Napoli regarding the terms of his new contract.
According to Sky Italia via The Mirror, the Super Eagles forward has asked for a 120 million euro (approximately N105.8 billion in Nigerian currency) release clause in his new contract, which differs from Napoli’s proposal.
According to the report, the Italian champions intend to invest 200 million euros in the new contract, making the striker one of the most expensive footballers of all time by the time he leaves the club.
Aside from the release clause, which is one of the reasons a new contract between the Nigerian striker and the Italian giants has yet to be agreed upon, there is also disagreement over his salary.
As previously reported, the Partenopei offered a salary of 7 million euros per year, which Osimhen deemed insufficient.
The Super Eagles forward’s current contract expires in 2025, but Napoli does not want to throw caution to the wind, which is why they want the contract extended.
While parties continue to disagree on the terms of the new agreement, there is hope that an agreement will be reached soon.
