Disregard viral email on Immigration recruitment – NIS

No ongoing recruitment – NIS

Nigeria Immigration Service

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has advised the public to ignore an email about recruitment into the service.

The NIS said it did not authorize the fake email and should be disregarded.

“If you received this type of email, which obviously didn’t come from us, please disregard. It’s fake,” NIS tweeted.

The NIS posted a copy of the email that contains a congratulatory message to a supposed applicant that the application for a role in Immigration is successful.

The email urged the applicant to check his/her invitation pass slip for date and venue.

The email also indicated that verification of documents and confirmation of physical disability status, logical reason, and training for the service will begin immediately after final screening.

Also, it stated that candidates are required to report in batches to venues assigned to their respective states of origin.

The NIS labelled the email as ‘fake’ and reiterated that there is no ongoing recruitment into the Immigration.

WITHIN NIGERIA had earlier reported that The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Monday also dismissed as fake, a NAF recruitment advert being circulated on social media platforms, describing it as an attempt to defraud applicants.

A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, in Abuja, said “NAF is not recruiting”, and warned applicants not to fall prey to fraudsters.

Gabkwet said the advertisement did not emanate from the NAF, and reminded Nigerians that the service recently graduated recruits of Basic Military Training Course 43/2022, on July 8.

According to him, members of the public would be adequately informed whenever NAF is recruiting.

“The public is please, once again reminded that the recruitment and selection process into the NAF is free and without any form of gratification. Anyone who pays money under any guise does so at his or her own risk.
