Tinubu to send list of Ministerial nominees on or before Thursday, Senate declares

Senate has declared that President Bola Tinubu will release the list of ministerial nominees within the next 48 hours

President Bola Tinubu’s anticipated list of ministerial nominees will be made available by him within the next 48 hours, as declared by the Senate. The President has decided to go into seclusion during this time to avoid any undue influence on his decision-making process.

The Senate has also urged Nigerians to pray for Tinubu, hoping that within the next 24 hours, he will be able to make the right choices that will lead to a list of ministers that will bring satisfaction to the citizens.

The announcement was made on Tuesday during the 60th birthday anniversary lecture and presentation of two books on Leadership and Communication at the Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja, by Senator Opeyemi Bamidele (APC, Ekiti Central), the Senate Leader. The Senate anticipates that the list will be received within the next 24 hours, and President Tinubu’s decision to take this brief period of seclusion aims to ensure that the nominees will be acceptable to all Nigerians.

Bamidele said: “Let me tell you, and you must encourage me; I need to make myself unavailable for the next 48 hours because a correspondence must come to the Senate, a very crucial correspondence.

“So Mr President prayed for me. We should tell the rest of Nigerians to pray for me to be able to make the right decision within the next 24 hours so that when Nigerians hear the list of his ministers, they will say ‘yes…this is uncommon’, and join us to pray for Mr President.

“He needed to be away from any kind of influence.”

Recall that President Tinubu, who was inaugurated 29th May, 2023, has up till July 28 to send his ministerial nominees to the Senate for screening and subsequent confirmation in line with the 1999 Constitution as amended.
