JUST-IN: FG Reacts To NLC’s Planned Nationwide Strike, Cites Pending Court Case

NLC had earlier threatened nationwide strike

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) gave the federal government a seven-day deadline before it will go on a nationwide strike in protest of the rising cost of living and petrol.

The Congress threatened to start the walkout on August 2 unless the administration changed all “anti-poor” and “insensitive” policies.

However, in a statement on Wednesday night, B.E. Jedy-Agba, solicitor general of the federation, said there is a pending order issued by the national industrial court restraining the NLC and the Trade Union Congress from embarking on any strike action in respect of the removal of petrol subsidy.

This is a developing story…
