Osun APC Factional Chairman Declines Adeleke’s Appointment

Mr. Rasaq Salinsile has declined the appointment given to him by the Osun State Governor citing personal reasons

Razak Salinsile, a supporter of former interior minister Rauf Aregbesola, was chosen by governor Ademola Adeleke to lead the teaching service commission (TESCOM) of the state of Osun, but he has since resigned.

Salinsile, a former state secretary for the All Progressives Congress (APC), had been named commission chairman by Adeleke on Thursday of last week.

Before they were defeated in court, Salinsile served as the APC group’s chairman and was supported by Aregbesola during internal squabbles with the faction of former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.

Salinsile had rejected the appointment before Adeleke sworn in board chairmen alongside special advisers on Wednesday at the Governor’s Office, Abere.

He was replaced with Tope Adeyemi, a close associate of Salinsile.

Contacted, Salinsile confirmed rejecting the appointment of Adeleke on personal ground.

He said: “I declined it for personal reasons.”
