Justice Chima Centus Nweze, a justice of the Nigerian Supreme Court, has passed away.
Justice Nweze, 64, died on Sunday night, according to the Daily Post.
As of Monday morning, when the incident was reported, the Supreme Court has not yet made an official remark.
Recall that Emeka Ihedioha of the People Democratic Party (PDP) was pronounced the victor of the 2019 governorship election in Imo State by Justice Nwaeze in a dissenting ruling in 2020.
The controversial Supreme Court decision declaring Ahmad Lawan, the former Senate President, as the legitimate All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate for the Yobe North Senatorial District for the 25 February general election was also delivered by Nweze in a three-to-two split decision.
On September 25, 1958, Justice Nweze was born in Obollo, Udenu Local Government Area, Enugu State.
In 2014, Former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration approved the recommendation of the National Judicial Council (NJC) to appoint Nweze to the supreme court
