  • Gbadamosi criticizes Tinubu’s leadership and ECOWAS colleagues
  • Urges Tinubu to seek relevance elsewhere to avoid bloodshed
  • Suggests Tinubu’s actions influenced by Western powers

Babatunde Gbadamosi, a Peoples Democratic Party member from Lagos East Senatorial District, voiced concerns about President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, suggesting that his lack of experience could potentially lead to him being misled into war amid the escalating Niger Republic crisis.

On Tuesday, Gbadamosi took to Twitter to caution that the military leaders in Niger Republic might disregard Tinubu’s ultimatum, and he expressed concern that the Democrats in America could guide him and his allegedly corrupt ECOWAS colleagues towards a prolonged conflict.

The Lagos candidate in the last bye elections said, “Tinubu’s empty braggadocio does not bode well, considering the ominous cloud of illegitimacy hovering over his illegal “prezzdency”. His lack of experience and depth is immediately obvious and is putting Northern Nigeria at serious risk of becoming a massive war theatre. The implications for the rest of Nigeria are best imagined.”

He added, “The idea that Tinubu would even imagine himself equal to a highly trained, vastly experienced, battlefield tested military general, world recognised leader, revered African leader, respected global diplomat and mentor to leaders in Africa and across the world is very, very alarming for Nigeria.

“Obasanjo did not become the OBJ we all know now by beating his chest or huffing and puffing emptily. On the contrary, he is known globally for his general reticence and always over-delivering, and this singular trait is what has earned him the respect that makes him perhaps the most respected Nigerian alive.

“Tinubu’s empty braggadocio does not bode well, considering the ominous cloud of illegitimacy hovering over his illegal “prezzdency”. His lack of experience and depth is immediately obvious and is putting Northern Nigeria at serious risk of becoming a massive war theatre. The implications for the rest of Nigeria are best imagined.

“The coupists in Niger will ignore his ultimatum, and rightly so. The Democrats in America will lead him and his hopelessly corrupt ECOWAS colleagues by the nose into a protracted war that no one will win except weapons manufacturers and consumers of uranium, none of which are ECOWAS members.

“I urge ALL Nigerian leaders, from Obasanjo down, to prevail on the vainglorious Tinubu to seek relevance elsewhere and refrain from his usual ritual of sacrificing Nigerian lives just for his own narrow, selfish benefit.

“Clearly, for him, this is about being seen as a “good boy” by selfish western powers whose only motivation is cheap access to precious African mineral resources.

“Bola Ahmed Tinubu should not allow his quest for relevance and validation to be watered by the blood of Nigerians and Nigeriens alike.”
