G37, a political support group of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Ajuri Obari Ngelale, an illustrious son of Rivers State, as his special adviser on Media and Publicity.
According to a statement on Thursday by its national coordinator, Comrade Evans City, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Ajuri performed admirably during the state’s presidential campaign in 2023.
G37 stated that the state’s people, particularly the Ogonis, the newly appointed presidential spokesman’s ancestral home, are grateful to the president for appointing their illustrious son to the exalted office.
The group assured Nigerians that the new presidential spokesman would bring more innovations to the office to strengthen the presidency’s relationship with the public.
As a result, Comrade Evans urged the special adviser to rely on his principal’s expectations to justify the trust placed in him.
It should be remembered that the G37 support group was one of the APC’s strongest pillars in taking the presidential campaign to every doorstep in Nigeria, particularly the South-South zone.
The group’s membership spans the federation’s 36 states and the FCT.
Nigeria Air to commence operations October
Recent reports suggest that Nigeria Air, the new national carrier, is set to begin its flight operations in October this year.
During an interview with Bloomberg TV, Mesfin Tasew, the Chief Executive Officer of Ethiopian Airlines, revealed the information.
The airline was initially introduced in 2018 at the Farnborough International Airshow in London. However, in May 2023, Hadi Sirika, the former Aviation Minister of Nigeria, launched the carrier just two days before the end of his term, causing widespread controversy and uproar across the country.
However, Tasew, during the interview, said: “The airline will begin operation with two wide-bodied planes and six narrow-bodied aircraft.
