The Katsina State Police Command recently conducted a successful rescue operation, saving two kidnapped students, Ibrahim Abdulwaheed and Abdulrahman Abdulwasiu, from the clutches of their captors.
Additionally, another individual, Malam Dauda Magini, was also rescued. The incident took place on August 3, 2023, in Bayan Radio quarters, Dutsinma, Katsina State, when a group of armed bandits stormed the area and kidnapped the victims.
In response to the report, the Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, acted swiftly by deploying the Area Commander and the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, led by CSP Andrew Alphouse, to conduct a thorough search and rescue operation.
The team combed through the dense bush and successfully located the victims, who were subsequently rushed to the hospital for immediate medical attention.
It is reassuring to see the police force taking decisive action and ensuring the safety of the abducted.
Zubairu worked for a feared bandit leader named Dankarami. ASP Yazid Abubakar, the command spokesperson, revealed this during a press conference at the police headquarters in Gusau.
Danhajiya had been causing terror in the Saminaka area of Gusau town. Zubairu, 35, was apprehended while the bandits were preparing to attack a police formation in Rukudawa village, Zurmi Local Government Area.
Addressing journalists on Friday night at the police headquarters in Gusau, the spokesperson for the command, ASP Yazid Abubakar, said, “The Police Tactical Team attached to Area Command Gusau acted on actionable intelligence that led to the arrest of the notorious kidnapper, Danhajiya.
“In the course of the investigation, one Mika’ilu Ibrahim “M” of Saminaka clearly identified the suspect as one of the bandits that kidnapped him sometime in March 2023 at his residence in Saminaka area”.
