Lagos announces night traffic diversion for truck barrier installation at national stadium bridge

...Lagos govt implores motorists to be patient

The Lagos State Government (LASG) has announced the diversion of traffic at the National Stadium Bridge along Funsho William Avenue for the installation of Truck Barriers.

The state government disclosed on Friday that the night traffic diversion will be in effect for three nights straight, starting on Friday, August 11, and ending on Monday, August 14, between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

LASG noted that alternative routes will be available to affected motorists during the installation of the barriers:

Motorists from Eko Bridge/Constain/Iponri inbound on Ojuelegba/Alhaji Masha Road will be diverted to the service lane from Alaka via the National Stadium gate to link Barracks or Alhaji Masha Road to continue their journeys, according to LASG

It added that motorists from Eko Bridge via Costain and those from Apapa Road going through Iponri will make use of Iponri Estate Road to link Bode Thomas via Adeniran Ogunsanya to Shitta Roundabout for their desired destinations.

The state government, however, implored motorists to be patient as the temporary closure of the bridge is planned for nighttime as part of a traffic management strategy to avert further accidents and loss of lives.
